I am a current undergraduate at the Rhode Island School of Design majoring in Illustration, with a passion for painting, drawing, and mixed media. I have developed a deep curiosity for psychology and the brain as I reflect on the mind, both interpersonally and intrapersonally. I aim to represent the workings of the human mind through my art, including concepts, thoughts and emotions that do not have words. I have investigated how natural and curated external spaces convey the internal mental world of an individual. I have also investigated human interaction, focusing on how two or more minds connect or disconnect. Motifs I utilize to convey these ideas include internal or medical anatomy of the human body, unique or unusual color palettes and lighting, collage and layering of materials, stylization of the human figure, emphasis on body language, and unreal or subliminal spaces. In addition, I am also influenced and inspired by my strong passion for film, with special interest in the utilization of horror, science fiction, practical effects, and non-digital futuristic or imagined technology. I am eager to apply my artistic approach to design and visual communication as an illustration student and future professional.
